 Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a system wide approach to teaching and supporting positive behaviors while meeting the needs of ALL students. It focuses on building a school environment that encourages students to achieve social, academic, and personal growth.

Four components make up the system:

1)   Behavior  Matrixes, which explains the behaviors expected in each school area;

2)   Direct Teaching of expectations, based on the behavior matrixes;

3)   The BUCS Incentive Program, which acknowledges and reinforces positive behaviors, and

4)   Parent/Guardian Support to confirm PBIS initiatives with students.
