OHS students shine at SkillsUSA competition

Oswego High School students Robert Clark, Abigail Roy and Dylan Cohen were recently recognized as among the top performers in their Career and Technical Education specialties at the recent regional SkillsUSA competition. Clark and Roy took third place in the categories of Information Technology Services and Commerical Baking, respectively. Cohen won first place in the Carpenter’s Assistant category and will move on to compete at the New York State SkillsUSA finals at the New York State Fairgrounds on April 25-27.Three Oswego High School students have earned top marks in the recent SkillsUSA competition administered through the Center for Technology, Innovation and Instruction (CiTi) and its Career and Technical Education program.
Robert Clark and Abigail Roy placed third in their categories of Information Technology Services and Commercial Baking, respectively.
In the Carpenter’s Assistant category, a first-place finish by Dylan Cohen punched his ticket to the upcoming New York State SkillsUSA Finals, to be held April 25-27 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. The program seeks to improve the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of Framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics.
SkillsUSA serves more than 335,000 students and instructors annually. This includes 19,500 instructors who join as professional members. Including alumni, SkillsUSA membership totals over 395,000. SkillsUSA has served more than 12.5 million annual members cumulatively since 1965.
