Dear Leighton Families,
I hope you’re having a wonderful summer and that it has been filled with great memories so far. Over the last month since I’ve seen you, I’ve had time to reflect on my first year at Leighton. With your help we accomplished a great deal and your children advanced from the hard work put forth by themselves and their teachers. There is so much to be proud of and I truly believe that our accomplishments were made based on our partnership with guess who: YOU! We have an amazing staff and I am humbly grateful for their commitment, courage, and care that they display with your children both instructionally as well as emotionally.
As I think about the upcoming school year, I’m very excited about this next chapter that we are about to write. We will remain steadfast to the commitments we began last year as we enter into the 2nd year of our PBIS initiative as well as our continued effort to build more technology into our daily lessons. We at Leighton want your children to be lifelong learners who care about their community and the people all around them.
As a team here at Leighton we promise to be visible and continue to work with your children to make sure that their needs are met and that hard work, good behavior and school attendance are rewarded by the success your child will feel.
Over the next few weeks you will hear from us as we begin our journey into the 2017-18 school year. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. I will be available on July 25th and 26th between the hours of 8-4, to meet with any of our new families or if you just want to come in and say hello!
Our vision in Oswego is to be….Fully Prepared and Life Ready. This vision statement starts right here at Leighton School. So please join our Home/School association this year and reach out to our staff with any questions you may have. Our success is your success!
Together for KIDS,
Ms. Shore
