OHS takes home second-place at OCAY League

A team of students from Oswego High School placed second in “The Rebirth of Knowledge” Oswego County Academic Youth League event, held recently in Pulaski.
The event centered on exploring the rebirth of human knowledge that took place from the 1300s to the 1600s in Europe and beyond. The OCSD team competed with teams from other schools throughout Oswego County in tasks based on art, architecture, scientific discoveries, literature and culture.
With provided supplies, such as: clay, popsicle sticks, straws, toothpicks, pipe cleaners, clay tools, foam board and paper towels, students recreated the famous “David” or “Pieta” sculptures from the Renaissance time period. Additional tasks included: construction of a dome of that time period, reenactment of a famous scientific discovery and the identification of various major accomplishments.
Participating team OHS OCAY League members, included: Nick Brown, Melissa Chun, Dakota Countryman, Nicole DelConte, Lauren DeVinny, Molly Fitzgibbons, Andres Noyes and Sophia Throop.
