OCSD mobile messaging service

Text alert opt-in 67587OCSD utilizes a school messenger call system that guardians' phone numbers are added to.The District uses this system to send out phone calls about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. Listen to the prompts after the message to opt-out if you do not wish to receive phone calls.

You can also take advantage of our text (SMS) messaging alert system.
The School Messenger system delivers text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information. Guardians can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. Data messaging rates may apply with your carrier.

You can also opt-out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

School Messenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.


SMS Original Story from July 25th, 2019:

The Oswego City School District is expanding the mobile messaging service it began using last winter. Starting on July 25, 2019, secondary contacts will begin to receive an opt-in text message from the phone number 67587.

Parents and guardians who receive the message can choose to receive future text message alerts from OCSD by replying with a Y, or Yes. If you do not want to participate in the text alerts, ignore the message or reply with No.

If you previously received the opt-in message last winter, you will not receive another opt-in message.

You can always opt-in or out of the text alerts by sending a text message, Yes or No, to the phone number 67587.
