Superintendent's Letter: COVID Update 11.15.20

Nov. 15, 2020

Dear Oswego CSD Community,

I am writing to share that the district has confirmed with the Oswego County Health Department three additional COVID-19 cases.

The first case involves a High School student who attends an out-of-district program. The second case involves a Fitzhugh Park Elementary Teacher and the last case involves a non-instructional staff member who works at Oswego High School.

Please be advised, the Health Department has completed all contact tracing activities. After doing so, it has been determined that the Oswego High School will continue to operate as normal. Fitzhugh Park Elementary School is currently providing remote instruction for all its students and will continue to do so through Friday, Nov. 20, 2020.

Due to confidentiality concerns the district is unable to provide more information on this matter.

Please also know, the district will continue to be vigilant with ensuring our safety precautions. We are requesting that all students and staff continue to maintain COVID-19 safety precautions as well, which include:
  1. Maintaining social distancing (at least 6 feet) whenever possible.
  2. Wearing a mask when in the presence of other individuals.
  3. Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 second and using hand sanitizer where needed; and
  4. Staying home when you are sick or exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms.
Anyone with questions or concerns about COVID-19 exposure can contact the Oswego County Health Department COVID-19 Hotline at (315) 349-3330.

Thank you,
Dr. Mathis Calvin III, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
