Superintendent's Letter: COVID Updates 11.16.20
November 16, 2020Dear Oswego City School District Community,
I am writing to share that the district has confirmed with the Oswego County Department of Health three additional COVID-19 cases. The first case involves a High School staff member. The second case involves a Fitzhugh Park Elementary teacher and the last case involves a Fitzhugh Park Elementary student.
Please be advised, the Department of Health has completed all contact tracing activities. After doing so, it has been determined that the Oswego High School will continue to operate as it has since the start of the school year. Fitzhugh Park Elementary School is currently providing remote instruction for all of its students and will continue to do so through Nov. 20
Due to confidentiality concerns the district is unable to provide more information on this matter.
Please also know, the district will continue to be vigilant with ensuring our safety precautions. We are requesting that all students and staff continue to maintain COVID-19 safety precautions as well, which include:
- Maintaining social distancing (at least 6 feet) whenever possible.
- Wearing a mask when in the presence of other individuals.
- Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 second and using hand sanitizer where needed; and
- Staying home when you are sick or exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms.
Thank you,
Dr. Mathis Calvin III, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
