Mr. Lanigan appointed OHS Principal effective 7/1

May 19, 2021

Dear Oswego City School District Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write to share that per my recommendation, the Board of Education appointed Mr. Ryan Lanigan, this morning as the new Oswego High School Principal, effective July 1, 2021.

Mr. Lanigan, is an alumnus and resident of the Oswego City School District. Throughout his career in education he has served as a football and track coach, physical education teacher, assistant principal and principal.

As an administrator he served as an assistant principal and then principal for the Fulton City School District Jr. High School for approximately seven years. After that, he went on to become the High School Principal and Director of Physical Education and Health for the Mexico Academy, located in the Mexico Central School District where he has served for the last five years.

Mr. Lanigan has been described by his colleagues as, “innovative, progressive, a strong curriculum leader and relationship builder.”

The district is excited about Mr. Lanigan’s hire and looks forward to his leadership of our high school. In the near future the district will host a “meet and greet” with Mr. Lanigan and community stakeholders. More details on this event are forthcoming.

Thank you in advance for your support of our new principal.

Yours in Education,
Mathis Calvin III, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
