IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Interim and Acting Superintendent Announcement

March 13, 2023
Dear Oswego City School District Community,

Earlier this evening, the Board of Education approved the hire of an Interim Superintendent and Acting Superintendent. Effective April 1, 2023, Mr. Jeffrey Gordon will be the district’s Interim Superintendent of School.

Mr. Gordon has worked in education for nearly 30 years. He has been a fourth-grade classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, director of curriculum and personnel and a building principal for the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District. To add to that, he has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel for the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District.

Additionally, the district’s Assistant Superintendent, Mrs. Amanda Caldwell, will be the Acting Superintendent for the district effective March 18 through April 1 and whenever Mr. Gordon is out of the district.

The district is excited about these new hires and looks forward to their leadership while we are searching for a new superintendent. The Board of Education will be sharing more details about the search process in the near future.

Thank you,

The Oswego City School District Board of Education
