Leighton Elementary Hosts Dr. Seuss Night

Two students at Dr. Suess Day
The tallest of parents to the smallest of runts ate pizza, made crafts, and did scavenger hunts. They all came to honor the author named Seuss, who wrote books like Thidwick, the Big-Hearted Moose. You might know other books like If I Ran the Zoo, or Cat In the Hat, or Horton Hears A Who. Ms. Reynolds, the librarian at FLS, ran a trivia game for all the guests. Asking questions about Dr. Seuss books like these, the students had to know things like “what is a thneed?”

One smile, two smiles, three smiles, and four, as guests ate the cakes from Cakes Galore & More! The pizza from Mark’s left the guests feeling pleased, as did posing for photos with Michael Falise. Falise brought with him some costumes and such for the photo booth photos to add a nice touch. The guests walked the halls to observe all the doors that were decorated like Seuss books from ceiling to floor.  Hiding on each door was a Cat In the Hat, for the scavenger hunt guests were looking for that. Some were high, some were low, some were tucked in behind, each door had a cat that wasn’t easy to find.

Thank you to all who helped this special night be more than just good, much more than alright. Your generous offer of talent and time shows you’re A#1 and that is quite fine. The list is quite lengthy of the night’s volunteers, and they each deserve a big round of cheers! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Thank you for creating this great night of play.
