NYS Middle School Principal of the Year

Oswego Middle SchoolThe Oswego City School District faculty, staff and administration work extremely hard every day to make our Oswego students, Fully Prepared and Life Ready! I am proud to announce that Mrs. Mary Beth Fierro, Principal of Oswego Middle School, has been selected as the 2017 New York State Middle School Principal of the Year by the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). The nominated selection process recognizes administrators who are committed to their school community and demonstrate outstanding contributions in education. Mrs. Fierro is a life-long educator who has over 30 years of experience in public education, who I have personally known over 40 years. Throughout the last six years at the Oswego Middle School she has worked diligently with staff to remove our middle school from the state designated school in need of improvement list (SINI) and introduce several programs that assist our students every day. SAANYS will honor Mrs. Fierro at their annual awards dinner in Albany on May 5th and The National Association of Elementary School Principals will also recognize Mrs. Fierro's and other National winners in Washington D.C. later this spring.  Congratulations to Mrs. Fierro, and the Oswego Middle School for their tremendous accomplishments.
