OHS Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is a national event that happens the first Saturday in May. Comic shops all over the country give away titles in an attempt to draw new readers and also promote the comic book industry. This year, Oswego High School was able to participate in Free Comic Book Day on May 5th thanks to Mrs. Fronk and Ms. Iorio. Both attended a comic book conference at OCM BOCES, where they received over a hundred free comic books which included a dozen different titles.
The comics were placed in three key areas of the high school: the Library and the two Little Libraries located outside of the large study halls.
Students, and staff alike, eagerly awaited May 5th and the opportunity to receive a free comic book. Dozens of students availed themselves of the opportunity to visit the Library or one of the Little Libraries, leaving with handfuls of comics.  Many teachers also brought their classes down to participate and expose their students to a different style of writing.
Free Comic Book Day at OHS was a great success and we hope the tradition can continue in years to come.
