Williams.Oswego High School Senior Allison Pasco on Tuesday was officially inducted into the United States Army All-American Marching Band, one of the highest national honors achievable for a high school student musician.
Pasco, who has been involved in the Oswego City School District’s music program since elementary school, received the recognition during a ceremony at OHS’s Robinson-Faust Theatre.
Each year just 125 students from all corners of the country are selected to the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. Pasco joins a long line of OHS All-Americans, becoming the sixteenth Marching Buccaneer selected since 2008.
In an address to the crowd of fellow Marching Bucs, family, friends, and school and U.S. Army officials, Pascoe said the opportunity was a “dream come true.”
Pasco will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Antonio, Texas to march in the halftime performance of the NCAA college football All-American Bowl to be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018. The game will be nationally broadcast live on NBC at 12 noon.
Marching Bucs Director Scott Ciesla said Pasco embodied “all that’s right” about Oswego students and band members, calling her “one of the hardest working” members of his ensemble while noting she always remained “humble and kind.”
