Leighton Elementary invites veterans for celebration

Thank You VeteransFrederick Leighton Elementary School is inviting all veterans to join its Veterans Day Celebration to be held on Thursday, November 9 at 9 a.m.
The event will honor veterans from all branches of service and feature guest speakers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Oswego’s Team RWB.
“We’re hoping that many people will come to our special day for Veterans,” said Jennifer Cahill, RTI Math Specialist at Leighton.
Activities will include presentations of pins from students to veteran family members, presentations of gifts to community veterans, service songs performed by Leighton students, exhibits of an artifacts museum of military equipment and MRE (meals-ready-to-eat) demonstrations during lunch.
