OHS Music Dept. to Present Guys and Dolls

Rehearsals and preparations are underway for the Oswego High School Music Department’s production of “Guys and Dolls,” slated for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 & 10 and 1 p.m. Feb. 11 at the OHS Robinson-Faust Theatre. Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, this award-winning classic gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway.

This year’s cast includes Romello Velazquez as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Nate Carr as Benny Southstreet, Miles Bandla as Rusty Charlie, Jillian Bell as Sarah Brown, Lucas Anzalone as Harry the Horse, David Pearson as Lt. Brannigan, Jake Barton as Nathan Detroit, Kian McCarthy as Angie the Ox, Helena Holmes as Miss Adelaide, Augustus Potter Jr. as Sky Masterson, Derek Gay as Joey Biltmore, Gianna Ellingwood as Mimi, and Seth Pagliaroli as Big Jule. Leading the Mission Band are Cheyenna Gordon as Arvida Abernathy and her followers: Izabelle Fiorito as Agatha, Wendy Thompson as Martha, and Jayden Vanwormer as Calvin along with Ciarrah Tynan as General Cartwright.

Rounding out the ensemble of gangsters, crapshooters, and featured dancers are Joscelyn Coniski, Laila Feito Cortes, Virgil Fitzgerald, Ana Galt, Derek Gay, Chloe Helmer, Kayne Kerling, Isaac McLaughlin, Basil Miller, Mia Naumann, Ben Norton, Cole Puckett and Emily Simpson.

The production is directed and choreographed by Oswego Middle School music teacher Ceara Windhausen, with music direction by OHS music teacher Robert Dumas. Steve Braun and TJ Bandla head up the technical direction.
