OMS Students Earn Top Finishes at Tech Wars
Oswego Middle School students recently demonstrated exceptional creativity, skill, and engineering prowess at the 2025 Tech Wars, held recently on the SUNY Oswego campus.The event provided students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges in a collaborative and competitive environment. Events ranged from structural engineering and automotive design to creative construction and problem-solving activities.
Competing against students from across the region, Oswego Middle School participants earned multiple top honors in a variety of the challenges. Leading the charge was Adalynne Green, who took home first place in both the Balsa Bridge Design and CO2 Dragster competitions, showcasing her mastery in design and precision engineering. Tommy Wells also brought home a first-place victory in the Catapult competition, while Emmaleigh East impressed judges with a first-place finish in Cardboard Furniture Design.
Other students earning top three finishes included Ben Hinman, who secured second-place honors in both Mousetrap Cars and Catapult events, and the duo of Attalie Anderson and Abby Pritchard earned second place in Cardboard Furniture Design. Rounding out the top three was Sophia Martinez, who placed third in Balsa Bridge Design, further contributing to Oswego Middle School’s strong presence at the event.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding performance,” said Oswego Middle School Technology teachers Eric McCrobie and Chuck Rowlee. “Their dedication, teamwork, and ingenuity were evident in every event, and their success reflects the strength of our technology programs.”
Oswego Middle School continues to emphasize hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
