Leighton Elementary Hosts Career Fair

Leighton Elementary School in Oswego welcomed a wide range of local professionals on May 12 for its annual Career Fair, providing students in grades 4 through 6 with an opportunity to explore future career options and connect with community role models.

Students engaged with volunteers from various fields, including college professor and teacher, veterinary technician, hair stylist, local police and fire departments, civil engineering, nursing, dental hygiene, electrical work, pipe-fitter/HVAC/plumbing, real estate, and financial planning. Each presenter shared insights into their career paths and answered students’ questions about education, training, and daily responsibilities.

“This event gives our students a chance to imagine themselves in different careers and learn directly from the people who help shape our community,” said Principal Stephanie Griffin. “We are incredibly grateful to all the professionals who donated their time and knowledge.”
