Superintendent's Letter: COVID Update 11.9.20
November 9, 2020Dear Oswego CSD Community,
I am writing to share that recently the district was notified by the Oswego County Department of Health of several COVID 19 exposures in our district.
The first involves a non-staff member who visited the Oswego Middle School last Friday, November 6, 2020, who has tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health has completed contact tracing and has concluded that the school can continue to operate as normal.
The second concern involves a transportation employee who tested positive for COVID-19 on November 8, 2020. The Department of Health has completed all contact tracing. After doing so they’ve concluded that our transportation department should continue operating as normal.
The last matter involves an Oswego High School student who also tested positive on November 8, 2020. The Department of Health has conducted contact tracing on this matter and has determined that the school has been cleared to continue to operate as normal.
Please know, due to confidentiality concerns the district is unable to provide more information on these matters.
Please also know, the district will continue to be vigilant with ensuring our safety precautions. We are requesting that all of our students and staff continue to maintain COVID-19 safety precautions as well, which include:
1. Maintaining social distancing (at least 6 feet) whenever possible.
2. Wearing a mask when in the presence of other individuals.
3. Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 second and using hand sanitizer where needed; and
4. Staying home when you are sick or exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms. Anyone with questions or concerns about COVID-19 exposure can contact the Oswego County Health Department COVID-19 Hotline at (315) 349-3330.
