Superintendent's Letter: COVID Updates 11.13.20
Nov. 13, 2020 (Fitzhugh Park Update)
Dear Oswego City School District Community,
I am writing to provide an update on the Fitzhugh Park Elementary School temporary closure due to several COVID-19 exposures.
Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, the district has decided to continue to keep Fitzhugh Park Elementary closed for another week — through November 20, 2020. During this closure all students who attend Fitzhugh Park Elementary will continue to receive their instruction remotely – virtually during their normal scheduled days and hours.
To add to this, the district will continue to partner and monitor this matter along with the Oswego County Health Department. By no later than next Friday, November 20, 2020, the district will provide an update for all parents and/or guardians as to when the school will be reopened.
As always, the district will continue to be vigilant with ensuring safety precautions. We are requesting that all of our students and staff continue to maintain COVID-19 safety precautions as well, which include:
- Maintaining social distancing (at least 6 feet) whenever possible.
- Wearing a mask when in the presence of other individuals.
- Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 second and using hand sanitizer whenever needed.
- Staying home when you are sick or exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms.
Thank you,
Dr. Mathis Calvin III, Ed. D.
