Superintendent News 2.27.22: OHS boiler issue
Dear Oswego High School Families,Earlier today, our district operations and maintenance team discovered issues with the boiler used to heat the high school. We are troubleshooting the heating problem and additional support will be on-site tomorrow (Monday, Feb. 28) for repairs.
As a result, due to insufficient heating, our high school will be operating on a two-hour delay and switching to remote learning tomorrow. Our high school administrative team will be sending out specific schedule information this evening.
We understand that not all our high school students have their remote learning materials at home. Staff will be available to distribute Chromebooks and other remote learning materials at the high school beginning at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. Materials may be picked up at any point during the school day.
Any students who attend CiTi BOCES programming in the morning will be picked up as normal. Afternoon CiTi BOCES students will be contacted by the transportation department with a home pick-up time.
We sincerely apologize for this unforeseen change in tomorrow’s schedule for our high school. It is our hope that the boiler will be fixed and our classrooms will be adequately heated for in-person learning to safely resume Tuesday. We will notify our OHS families if additional schedule changes are expected.
As always, we appreciate your understanding during these challenging times. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to our high school administrative team at 315-341-2200.
Yours in Education,
Mathis Calvin III, Ed. D.
