OMS students compete in annual Battle of the Books

A number of students worked hard for many months in preparation for Oswego Middle School’s annual Battle of the Books for a spot at the regional level.

This year’s competition was won by “The Green Team,” comprised of Len Lin, Nora Newell, Hunter Pluff and Kyler Werner. They will advance to represent OMS at the regional competition against other nearby school districts.

Battle of the Books is a reading competition in which students compete in teams to answer trivia questions related to eight books they read ahead of time.

The OMS competition is coordinated by the school’s Library Media Specialist, Mrs. MaryAlice Brennan Steere.

Judges included Mrs. MaryBeth Fierro, OMS Principal, and Ms. Cheryl Beck, OMS Literacy Specialist.
