OCSD Announces Kindergarten Registration

With the 2024-2025 school year right around the corner, the Oswego City School District is preparing for kindergarten registration, which will take place the week of March 4.

Registration will be held at Central Registration, located in the Education Center at Leighton Elementary School (playground entrance) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 4-8. If you would like a registration packet mailed to you and your child will turn 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024, please contact Central Registration at 315-341-2045 or visit www.oswego.org.

To register, parents or guardians must supply the registration packet, birth certificate, proof of immunization, proof of residency and custody paperwork if applicable.

Students who currently attend Universal Pre-Kindergarten will not need to register or be pre-screened. However, immunization records will need to be updated and submitted. A notification of which immunizations your child still needs will be sent to you during the summer. Also, a dental certificate (which NYS law allows schools to request) must be provided as well as a physical form which will need to be completed and signed by your physician.

If you have a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten and have not received a packet, please contact the school registrar at 315-341-2045 or email registration@oswego.org.

All students will be involved in kindergarten screening, which will be scheduled and communicated with parents at a later time.
