Leighton Elementary celebrates perfect attendance in a paws-itive way

Frederick Leighton Elementary School is making attendance fun this fall with a creative monthly challenge.

Each class works to “spell” a word of the month by earning one letter for every day the entire class is present. If the class spells the full word by the end of the month, they earn a prize.

One recent reward was a visit from Dottie, a certified therapy dog, through K-9 Caring Angels. Dottie brought smiles and excitement as she visited classrooms that met their attendance goals. The program encourages teamwork, responsibility and consistency. A new word is introduced each month, giving students and teachers fresh motivation to strive for perfect attendance together.
FLS plans to continue the challenge throughout the school year, offering a variety of fun and meaningful incentives along the way.
