Oswego Marching Buccaneers capture first State Championship in school history

The Oswego Marching Buccaneers earned its first-ever New York State Field Band Conference (NYSFBC) championship title, taking first place in its class with a score of 87.35.
The victory reflects the students’ hard work, discipline and perseverance throughout the season. Band members spent months refining their performance through rehearsals, competitions and community events, demonstrating growth, teamwork and pride in representing their school.

When asked about the recent victory, sophomore flutist Mack Joyce said,
“It’s been a lot of hard work, and to be able to make history for Oswego has been so fulfilling!”

The Buccaneers’ success at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse highlights the strength of Oswego’s music program and the commitment of its young performers. Students, staff and supporters celebrated the accomplishment as a defining moment for the long-standing program and a testament to more than half a century of effort.
